O, the heat

So here in South Carolina it's been 108 for 2 days now and boy o boy I dislike it. I was born and rained in FL so people would assume I would be used to this kind of thing, but I haven't lived there for almost 8 years. Anyway I haven't been crafting this week. School has been hectic and work has been super busy. I am hoping to make something tomorrow (Sunday) since that's my relax day, unless I head to a movie then maybe I won't be crafting. I need to get my paycheck because I saw some cute new cartdriges I want and the Michaels by me is having extra 30% all sale stuff. I'm just dying because I can't go and buy everything hehe.

I just got done putting together and easel. My boyfriend was cleaning out an apartment and found a brand new easel just bagged up and never used. I wanted to display an amazing picture of NYC in the living room on this easel so today I decided why not put it together. Let me tell you something, it's not easy. It's put together and the pic is on it and it looks wonderful:)
Any ideas of something I should make this weekend, lets here it!

Who ever else is in the middle of this wonderful heat wave-be safe, stay in AC and have a good weekend:)

Fish Cricut Birthday Card

I was in charge of making my uncle's birthday card for the weekend. Thing is I don't have many cartridges for my Cricut at this time so I have to come up with something cute with what I had. About 30 minutes of just sitting and flipping through the cricut booklets I thought of an idea.
Hope you have a Splashtastic Birthday! Made out of the fish bowl from the Animal Kingdom cartridge. The fish are attached with Styrofoam baking and so is the seaweed. This made the front of the card stand out. I attached 2 fishbowls together to form a card that flipped over. Instead of using glue to attach them I used blue ribbon. I wrote with a white pen and also traced the water top with the white pen. Hope ya like:) HAPPY CRAFTING!

Etching Glass

No picture to go with this post today, but I have been thinking about starting to do some glass etching. I have read about armour etch which seems pretty simple to use. Any ideas, recommendations? I would like to get started on some Christmas presents. I was thinking of buying glassware from goodwill to practice on. Of course I will put my name on it so I can use it afterward:)
I will be using either vinyl or contact paper for the letters to stick to the glass. I believe the contact paper is going to be my cheapest best solution. Please leave comments to help me out with this!

Father's Day Card

1st I have to say how much I love my Cricut. It has come to the rescue for many gifts and ideas I have. Thanks Cricut machine you are awesome:) I used the Father's Day cartridge for the card.
Set Cricut to 3 1/2". Start with the green paper and use the "Best Day Ever", save the "Dad" and the background from the green paper. Same settings and use Kraft Paper. Since this paper is a little thicker you will need to use High Pressure to get it to cut good. Save the background and the "Dad" from this. Using the Orange paper keep the Cricut set on 3 1/2" and cut the background that goes with the Best Dad ever, to make the layer. You will want to glue the green background to the center of the green paper. Glue the orange to the Kraft paper, I put styrofoam squares to raise the design off the paper. After that I glued the green "Dad" to the Kraft paper "Dad". I also attached styrofoam squares to the back of the letters. Now glue those onto the front. I added screw brads to each side of the Kraft paper, but I will post a pic of that tomorrow. Have a good night, hope ya like:)

Materials Needed:
Brown Cardstock
Green Cardstock
Orange Cardstock
White marker
Father's Day cartridge
Glue

Father's Day Liquor/Cigar Bouquet

Welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy the stuff I post and please feel free to post or ask questions. My first post is going to be something I made my boyfriends dad for Father's Day. It was difficult to think of something he wanted, but we knew he loved to enjoy liquor and cigars so I made a cigar/liquor bouquet. Let me know what ya think.
